As part of our vision to reach, connect and grow, Lifezone Church is developing an on-going partnership with the South Asian Institute for Advanced Christian Studies (SAIACS) and Radiant Life Ministries located in Bangalore, India. These partnerships allow us to be part of the Gospel being proclaimed to all nations, but also a practical opportunity for our people to get out of their comfort zones and be God's Hands and Feet in very real and practical ways, not just in Tauranga, but in India as well.
Ian Payne is the Principal of SAIACS and has a long family association with Lifezone. SAIACS vision is to be a world-class post-graduate theological institution in South Asia, greatly serving the mission of the Church of Jesus Christ globally.
Pastor Dominic Hancock started Radiant Life Ministries while a student studying at SAIACS. Radiant Life Ministries includes a church, a home for boys, a home for girls, a school and sewing school. Many of the children and students Radiant Life works with come from slum areas and Radiant Life Ministries is their only hope for the future.
A small, focused team will be heading to Bangalore in July 2012 to further develop this partnership, serve and encourage the Paynes, Pastor Dominic and the staff at SAIACS and Radiant Life.
In July 2011, we sent a team of 18 to help build furniture for new classrooms as the christian university trains young, passionate people to go out and plant churches within their own neighbourhoods. As well as the furniture, the team was able to participate in several other compassion ministries in Bangalore that SAIACS is associated with.
The team can testify how life changing the experience was for them...
