Lifezone Church (formerly Otumoetai Bible Chapel) has sought to serve its community for over 40 years. Our mission and core values are as follows:

MISSION

To gain and train followers of Jesus Christ who will impact the world.

As a Church we have as our core values:

1. Gods Word, The Bible
· We believe the Bible is God's Word and is the foundation on which the church is built.
· The Bible is integral for daily personal growth.
· The Bible is used for teaching, encouraging and challenges people to change and to "go deeper" into God's Word and to become more like Jesus Christ.
· That the Bible should be taught in its entire context with scripture not to be viewed in isolation.
· The Bible teaches us a proper kingdom view of God and the Trinity.
· Empowers leadership under Jesus Christ's headship.
· Allows a permission giving culture.
· Points directly to salvation and places a high value on a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
· The Bible should be read every time we meet as a church.

2. Serving
· All Christians are called to obedience and to serve with the gifts (talents) that the Holy Spirit has given them.
· Serving God is a key component of worship, with daily worship flowing from service and worship flowing into service.
· Effective service flows from walking daily with God.
· We are called to be "a light" to the world and should witness as God provides the opportunity.
· Personal evangelism should be encouraged and empowered within the church.
· Our mission field is everywhere as God leads.

3. Worshipping in spirit and in truth
· Worship fundamentally flows out of service and a daily walk experiencing God.
· Worship is about giving back and showing our gratitude to God.(We are not consumers of worship but givers of worship.)
· Worship is all encompassing - it is a Christian life dynamically in action.
· A high value is placed on the Lord's supper - communion.
· The priesthood of all believers is encouraged, giving freedom for the use of all the spiritual gifts to build up the church.
· Spiritual gifts are always to be used in a fitting and orderly way.

4. Prayer impacts the world
· Recognises and prepares us for spiritual battles against Satan and his fallen angels.
· Provides us a "hedge of protection".
· Prayer is a key element to a Christians growth.
· Small groups are a vehicle that empower prayer.
· Corporate prayer brings growth and unity and great empowering.

5. Discipleship impacts the person
· Equips Christians and is a fundamental key to personal growth and transformation.
· Mentors Christians and connects the generations.
· Acts as a conduit to "pass on" biblical knowledge.
· Discipleship has a direct link with evangelism.
· Leads to baptism.

6. Community
· We are a community of faith.
· Is relevant to the secular world.
· Places a high value on the importance of individuals and loving relationships.

We believe our mission field is both local and worldwide with a core focus on families through our strengths, which are:
· Ministry to Families
· Ministry to Children
· Ministry to our emerging youth
· Ministry to the elderly

So as we impact those around us for Jesus Christ and bring together the "threads" of all the generations to achieve our God given vision and mission.

Lifezones' Purpose

We believe our purpose, as one of God's local churches is to reveal God's glory by:

· Nurturing and working in partnership with God, growing and discipling Christians, encouraging use of their gifts imparted through the Holy Spirit.
· Being used by God in "sowing the seed" via evangelism - represent God's Kingdom.
· To "reap the harvest" of sowing the seeds - reconciliation to God through Jesus Christ.
· To witness "life change" in people.
· To encourage and enhance loving relationships.
· Encouraging people into their full potential in God.
· To support the mission field world-wide.
